TANUJA RAMKISSOON (She)
Née RamkissoonPractical Nursing - 2021
What brought you to Humber and your program of study?
I chose Humber for its strong reputation in healthcare education and hands-on learning. I completed my Practical Nursing program there from 2019 to 2021 to gain real clinical experience and build confidence in patient care. I was drawn to nursing due to my passion for helping others and making a positive impact on people’s lives.
What was your favourite Humber memory or experience?
My favourite memory at Humber was the cadaver lab, where I had the opportunity to learn anatomy in a hands-on and realistic way. It was a unique and eye-opening experience that deepened my understanding of the human body and made my learning much more meaningful.
What was Humber's greatest impact on your personal and professional life?
Humber had a significant impact on both my personal and professional growth by helping me build confidence, discipline, and strong clinical skills. Through hands-on learning and real clinical experiences, I developed the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centred care while working effectively as part of a healthcare team. It also strengthened my sense of responsibility and commitment to making a positive difference in people’s lives.
What are you up to now?
I am currently working as a nurse, continuing to build my clinical skills and gain experience in patient care. I focus on providing compassionate, patient-centred care while growing professionally and adapting to different healthcare settings.
What else do you want to share (e.g. Memorable trip; If you had a superpower; Favourite food or coffee shop; Personal and professional interests; Awards and recognition; Other milestones)?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my grandma and helping the residents at her long-term care home, as well as enjoying nature with my family. I also love visiting my favourite coffee shop, Balzac, to relax and recharge. These moments help me stay grounded and connected to the people and experiences that matter most to me.
