What brought you to Humber and your program of study?

I was drawn to Humber for its renowned Radio Broadcasting program. After graduating from high school, I knew I wanted to specialize in a focused, hands-on field rather than pursue a generalized education. Humber stood out as the perfect fit, offering industry-relevant training and real-world experience.

During my campus tour, I was incredibly impressed by the state-of-the-art facilities at North Campus and the welcoming, knowledgeable faculty, especially Joe and Jerry, whose passion for the program was contagious. Their enthusiasm and expertise solidified my decision to embark on this journey straight from high school.

Choosing Humber was a pivotal decision that gave me the practical skills, industry insights, and confidence to launch my career. The supportive learning environment and immersive program laid the foundation for my professional growth and success!

What was your favourite Humber memory or experience?

My favourite experience at Humber was undoubtedly the relationships I built there. Beyond the classroom, some of the most memorable moments were the casual hangouts in the hallways, relaxing in the Arboretum, and socializing at Caps.

It was an exciting time in my life—I truly felt like a new adult, surrounded by peers who shared similar interests and ambitions. The sense of community was strong, and whether we were collaborating on projects or simply enjoying a night out, there was always a feeling of connection and belonging.

Those social moments enriched my overall experience at Humber, making it not just a place to learn but a place to grow personally and professionally. The friendships and memories I made there continue to have a lasting impact on my life and career.

What was Humber's greatest impact on your personal and professional life?

Humber played a significant role in shaping both my personal and professional growth. It built my confidence, strengthened my public speaking skills, and ignited my passion for being in front of people—skills I rely on daily in my side business as an MC and in my career as an HR Director.

Humber also taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. My long commute, involving multiple buses and subways, added an extra layer of challenge to my academic journey. Yet, overcoming that obstacle and successfully graduating made the achievement even more rewarding.

The experiences and lessons I gained at Humber continue to influence how I approach challenges, lead teams, and engage with others every day.

What are you up to now?

Since graduating, I’ve gained extensive experience in the agency, event, and sports industries, specializing in fostering positive team dynamics and building successful corporate cultures.

As Senior Director of People & Culture at Diamond, I lead recruitment, training, and people management with a strong focus on sustaining a thriving workplace environment. I’m deeply committed to driving organizational success through strategic talent sourcing, employee development, and effective team leadership.

For over 20 years, I’ve also served as the Staffing Director, Game Presentation for the Toronto Maple Leafs (Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment). I lead a 30-person game presentation crew, overseeing in-game activations, ceremonies, and fan engagement initiatives. I’ve hosted and managed promotions, contests, and fan experiences while serving as a chaperone for celebrity guests and NHL alums to ensure seamless event execution.

Additionally, as a seasoned professional event host and MC, I bring energy, professionalism, and a dynamic presence to every event, whether corporate functions, social gatherings, or virtual events. My clients include global brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola, and Samsung, and I’ve proudly served as the In-Game Host for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

What else do you want to share (e.g. Memorable trip; If you had a superpower; Favourite food or coffee shop; Personal and professional interests; Awards and recognition; Other milestones)?

I had an incredible experience at Humber, where I made lasting memories and laid the foundation for my career. I’m eager to return to campus with my kids to show them the place that played a significant role in my personal and professional journey. It would be a meaningful way to share Humber's positive impact on me.
