JENNY SMITH

Creative Writing - 1997

What brought you to Humber and your program of study?

I just finished my Master's in Public History at Western and got a job at an art gallery. I needed something fast-paced where I could use my writing and research skills. That’s when someone mentioned copywriting and the ad world to me. I decided to move to Toronto and enroll in the Copywriting Diploma program.

What was your favourite Humber memory or experience?

I loved it. I met some of the best people ever, I learned so much and the program challenged me. It helped me land an amazing internship that was highly sought after.

What was Humber's greatest impact on your personal and professional life?

Because of my experience at Humber, I went on to have a very successful career in advertising. I worked for a bunch of agencies for over 15 years, won a ton of awards and got to judge every local, national and most international ad shows including Cannes. After all that, I started my own ad agency in 2013. And currently have 25 employees with clients all over NA.

What are you up to now?

What else do you want to share (e.g. Memorable trip; If you had a superpower; Favourite food or coffee shop; Personal and professional interests; Awards and recognition; Other milestones)?

Humber allowed me to use my creativity and most importantly, land a job. Our profs were amazing and they set us up for the real world.
